Family Volunteer Programs Abroad – Child-Friendly Volunteer Vacations

Our family volunteer programs abroad are available in six safe, child-friendly and popular destinations — India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, South Africa, Peru and Costa Rica. Designed with families in mind, these short-term volunteer vacations (from 1–2 weeks) are flexible enough to fit around school semesters and holidays. With customizable start dates and projects tailored to your children’s ages and interests, they are ideal for families traveling with children under 18. We work closely with you to design a family volunteering experience that suits your schedule, passions, and goals.

Families can choose from a wide variety of projects across our destinations — from teaching English in schools in India, to after school clubs in Peru, sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica, or school renovation projects in Sri Lanka. Each program is designed to be engaging, educational, and meaningful for children and adults alike.

By joining a family volunteer vacation, you not only make a positive impact on local communities and conservation projects, but you also strengthen your family bond through shared purpose. Types of Volunteering Abroad for Families with Kids

We tailor project options so children of different ages can participate meaningfully. Our short-term programs range from 1 to 2 weeks, ideal for school holidays or family breaks. There are flexible start dates aligned with school semesters or holiday periods. In addition we customize programs: we can adjust activities based on children’s ages, interests, and family schedules.Some options include:

Family Volunteering in Nepal

Join us with your family in the cultural mecca and mesmerising country of Nepal. Here you will be given placements with local schools, monk schools or community projects with children. On the side you can explore Pokhara, Chitwan Jungles and go hiking or trekking in Nepal. Programs will be customised as per your needs.

Family Volunteering in India

Based in the Southern India, Kerala is a family friendly destination that will give you and your family a feel for India. You will be given placements at local schools where you can volunteer together. On the side our supportive team can organise local experiences for you as well as excursions to beaches and the famous backwaters of Kerala.

Family Volunteering in Costa Rica

If your family is interested in animals we have wonderful volunteering programs in Costa Rica that will truly be enjoyable and rewarding. You can help at a sea turtle conservation program or wild animal shelter. Costa Rica ofcourse has the worlds best beaches, surfing and plenty of nature trails for your family to enjoy on the side

2. Apply Online

Fill an online application form and pay your deposit so we know you are committed to coming out. Don’t worry all your personal details will stay confidential.

3. Confirmation of placement

Once we get your application form we will contact you and confirm your spot and also share your details with our local team.

4. Support in preparing

Our team will send material to help you prepare for your upcoming program and to support you and answer any questions related to your location.

5. Getting ready

We recommend you get your visas, insurance, flights as well as packing list organised well in advance so you are not rushing last minute.

6. Come out & start the adventure

This is the exciting part! Once you reach us in the country everything is taken care of. All you have to do is focus on making a difference & enjoying the experience.
